Hello!
I had a look at my journal and realized a few things:
1. It is several months old and hopelessly out-of-date
2. There's stuff you guys don't know yet.
3. It's stupid to have it up.
So I've decided to update you on my going-ons! *receives applause*

First thing first: The General Update. Life is moving along just fine. I art, I write, I spend time with my friends and I plot the extinction of the human race. My newest book idea requires me to kill off humanity in about fifty years, which I'll accomplish with a combination of a lethal, natural pandemic (we're overdue for one anyways), an extremely lethal engineered pandemic, and a series of natural disasters, most linked to the rising global temperatures and the greenhouse effect. It'll be fun, I tell you.

And I have discovered Welcome to Night Vale. It is amazing, I'm addicted and I'm a fangirl, and it took me all of half an episode to realize this. If you have 20-30 minutes free, I highly recommend having a listen.
WtNV is surprisingly hard to describe, but I've made an attempt anyways. It is funny and weird and creepy and adorable and bizarre and gloriously different and well worth listening to. Here's a place you can find it, to download or listen: podbay.fm/show/536258179

I'm also heading to England on an exchange program, leaving tomorrow morning. I've probably said something about this already, so I'll keep it short.
I have a lovely host family. I get to have interesting classes. I won't live far from my best friend. I'll get to do and see and experience new stuff practically every day. I'm looking forwards to this.

Last, but not least: Yesterday I was asked if I wanted my newest poem, Monochrome, to be in a group called #TalentedWritersGuild ! I am deeply honoured, whoever added my poem. This was an extremely pleasant surprise. Thanks a lot!

Flight Rising

1 min read
FR is ONLINE! After waiting eleven hours for my confirmation email and finally getting it when someone on the FR team manually extracted my confirmation code and sent me, I'm in the game!
My custom starter Mirror female Firden is awesome. Her Tundra mate, however..... I had to name him Marshmallow. Tundras are very fluffy dragons and Marshmallow is pink and a light-ish blue.
And of their three kids, only green and brown Lore was a keeper. I used my Imperial scroll on her, so I get a pretty Imperial female :3 I'm looking for a Guardian mate for her right now.
If you're already in Flight Rising or planning to join once it opens to the general public on Saturday, gimme your names! I'm Lyel, and I belong to the Light flight.
See you there!

Skins!

2 min read
Hello!

I may or may not have mentioned Flight Rising before. Flight Rising is a new (as in, not yet open) browser game with dragons. Yes, that's right. DRAGONS.
Apart from the sheer awesomeness of that alone, they have something called skins.
A skin, in Flight Rising, is like a piece of apparel. It's the lineart and shadowing of the dragon, but with a completely cusom-made pattern, with custom colours etc. You download a file with the dragon you want to create a skin for, and as long as you leave the lineart and shadows alone and don't use jet black, pictures etc and keep it reasonable, you're free to make whatever you want. So far I've seen automaton dragons, Rise of the Guardians-themed dragons, and even Toruk (great Leonopteryx) and Ikran (Banshee) dragons. Superhero-themed dragons can also be found, as can space-themed and egyptian-themed ones.
Alas, none of my skins are as fancy as that. I make all mine with the use of a standard brush and the eraser, varying the size of the tool and using pen pressure to get effects.
I still personally think they're pretty spiffy. I'll be uploading them soon, and then you can all see for yourselves.

Camp NaNoWriMo

2 min read
Hi all! It's Camp NaNo!
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Normally NaNo is in November, but in April and July there's Camp NaNo. It's more social than NaNo because of the cabin system (which I'll explain only if I'm asked), and I found an awesome chat. I've participated in my first word wars, written 7k words in three and a half days and had LOTS of fun.

Anyways. My novel. The summary is crap, so in short it's a sci-fi crime action thingy with a dash of romace because my two MMCs (one of which is not human) decided to fall in love. But that's just cream fluff filling.

I'm using proper technology and biology too. Antimatter engines, travel time, dattoos (which are really cool and actually exist!), you name it. Some of my aliens come from planets with lower gravity than Earth and one species, which has three genders, is entirely marine.

Here's the campnanowrimo.org/campers/liza… to my Camp NaNo novel.

On it you can find the aforementioned crappy summary, an excerpt (which currently is a 1,5k words long graphic battle scene) and the stats for my novel. If you take a look, I'd be very grateful if you could mention something you liked and something you didn't like about te excerpt, but do keep in mind that it's a rough first draft.

Now I'm off to write more. See you in 5k!

dA glitches

1 min read
I am unable to access any messages. This is dA's fault and a bug I'm sure they know about. Just warning you that comment replies (lol who am I kidding no-one comments on my stuff *sniffles*) and stuff like that won't happen until it's fixed.
EDIT: nevermind it fixed itself. I believe. Could have something to do with those stupid proxy servers at school...
